The Tumblin' Dice are together now for about 12
years. They started not really, straight away as a band, but more like a try out
during a session in the south of Holland.
After a little while they formed a very good band which was not really the
intension of the boys. The Tumblin' Dice had so much succes that they decided to
form a real band and gave it the name The Tumblin' Dice, this after a title of
song of the Stones.
One show followed the other and within no time the Dice was travelling through
the whole country and also Belgium and Germany. Ofcourse there have been some
changes over the years within the band it self, but what remained since the
first day is Tim Semeijn, or in other words, Keith.
Tim is to a certain extand the heart of the band, but without all the others it
would never sound as good as it does. For many years Ben (Drums), Martin (now
Karel) (Piano/Keyboards), are members of the band and established the defined
sound of The Tumblin' Dice.
Since not all that long the band got Frans Meijboom, playing with them as well.
Frans, a well known Blues Guitarist in the Dutch Blues scene, gives a very good
if not exellent performence of Ron Wood in the band.
The frontman of the band is Jos van Gangel. Jos joined the band earlier this
year and is growing eversince. He's a singer for a long time and has a lot of
experience with soulmate Mick Jagger. His energetic performance gives the
tumblin'dice the face they need!.
The Tumblin'Dice has been playing on a lot of great events. One of them was the
after party of the Stones in The Hague after the Stones were playing there. It
was a great gig, where also Bernard Fowler and the Roadmanager of the Stones
showed up. It was there were the Roadmanager of the Stones said the magic words.
"they don't look like'em, but they Fu.....ing sound like 'em".
This is still a complement which the band treasures very much. Gig's in
Hannover, on the CEBIT, show's in Aachen, Koln and outdoor show's and festivals
all over Holland, are all on the agenda of the Tumblin' Dice.
